纳尔·海尔马里亚姆, Nael HAILEMARIAM

来自东非埃塞俄比亚首都--亚的斯亚贝巴的Nael HAILEMARIAM， 是Open FIESTA清华大学国际开放创新教育中心的一名数据科学与信息技术硕士研究生。他对中国和东非（特别是埃塞俄比亚）的科技和社会生态系统的交互共融非常感兴趣。两年前，他来到位于科技之城深圳的深圳开放创新实验室进行了实习，之后开始在清华大学深圳研究院继续学习。他还曾在一家名为GIFTO的区块链公司工作。他对通过最新的技术工具促进文化之间的交融有着浓厚的兴趣。Nael今年23岁，曾多次前往美国，卢森堡，荷兰，日本，韩国和印度等参加黑客马拉松及进行学术访问。目前，他已经获得了巴黎国际工商学院和清华大学的互联网与创新联合项目获得硕士学位。

Nael HAILEMARIAM comes from Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia is a master student of Data Science and Information Technology in Open FIESTA program of Tsinghua University. He has a tremendous interest in the cross-pollination of the tech and social ecosystem of China and the East Africa; specifically, Ethiopia. He became interested in pursuing his studies at Tsinghua, Shenzhen after he went to SZOIL and dwelled in the sci-fi tech city of Shenzhen for an internship two years ago. He has also worked in the Blockchain company called GIFTO. He is interested in expanding intercultural empathy through the latest technological tools. Nael is 23 years old and traveled to the USA, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, and India for hackathons and educational visits. Currently, he has secured his masters' admission at CRI Paris and Tsinghua University Joint program in Internet and Innovation.

埃塞俄比亚设计 Designed in Ethiopia

作为中国与埃塞俄比亚合作青年创新创业活动Designed in Ethiopia发起人之一，纳尔·海尔马里亚姆抱着对自己国家未来的策划愿景，推动了埃塞俄比亚科技部与深圳开放式创新实验室（SZOIL）和iCog Labs的合作，来开展“Designed in Ethiopia”项目。通过这个特殊的项目，来自埃塞俄比亚不同地区的年轻专业人士将他们的生产设计投入到世界市场。

The Ministry of Science and Technology has been designing a program called Designed in Ethiopia in collaboration with Shenzhen Open Innovation Lab (SZOIL) and iCog Labs, owing of a curated vision of young Ethiopian, Nael HAILEMARIAM. It’s a special program where young professionals from various regions of Ethiopia are able to convert their designs of production where it can be surged into the world market.

iCog 实验室是位于亚的斯亚贝巴的人工智能研究公司。全球首个获得沙特阿拉伯公民身份的机器人索菲娅，iCog 实验室通过与汉森机器人公司合作，参与开发了索菲娅的部分软件，使得索菲娅能够在一定程度上使用埃塞俄比亚的官方语言阿姆哈拉语与人交流。

iCog Labs is a research and development company based in Addis Ababa, collaborating with international AI research groups and serving customers around the world.  When Sophia who is the first robot to gain the citizenship of Saudi Arabia , iCog Labs helped Hanson Robotics to program her to speak Amharic, the language of Ethiopia.

“Designed in Ethiopia”项目的100位年轻专业人士中，最终只有10个设计能够获得进入市场的资格。为期7天的培训将在亚的斯亚贝巴科技大学进行，最终的10个设计方案将被称为“Design in Ethiopia”。 埃塞俄比亚科技部部长Getahun博士说，该计划将从2018年开始，每年举行两次。

In “Designed in Ethiopia” program, the 10 selected designs from 100 of these young professionals will be headed to the market. The training will be given at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University for 7 days and 10 design proposals will be called "Design in Ethiopia". The Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Ing. Getahun Mekuria said the program will be held twice a year starting this year, 2018.

深圳智造Prototype in Shenzhen

纳尔现时在深圳清华的研究生，同时肩负建立中埃智能硬件交流平台的重任，他认为非洲设计、深圳智造的模式会有很大潜力，埃塞俄比亚将会是非洲市场的领头羊。

Nael now is the master student in Tsinghua University and the driver of China- Ethiopia smart hardware platform. He has great confidence on the success on  “Designed in Ethiopia Prototype in Shenzhen  “.

这种模式已有成功案例，深圳手机企业传音，2016及2017年连续成为中国手机出口量第一的企业。2017年，传音在全球销售了将近1.3亿部手机，其中73%销往非洲。传音成功主要原因是他们根据埃塞俄比亚的需求，量体裁衣地设计最适合非洲市场的手机，并以埃塞俄比亚作为基地，发展非洲这个最具潜力市场。

TECNO is a successful showcase. The Shenzhen mobile company won the No. 1 of China mobile export in 2016 and 2017. They sold around 130 million mobile phone to the world while 73% to Africa. The success was because of the tailor made mobile design for the African market, started with Ethiopia.
